The textile loupe is removable as I designed the piece with a removable SS "roof". One can remover the very powerful loupe which unfolds...used in the textile industry to check the warp and weave of the fabric...it is an amazingly strong magnifying instrument.
"Ruby Tongued Talisman"
This is one of several bracelets I cast in the "Ruby-Tongued Talisman" Series. A series of these creatures with their tongues hanging out-I embedded a small ruby in each tongue. They were supposed to "ward off boring people" when you wore them -it was a great selling point!
Each creature was totally different and had it's own personality.
"Masks, SS, copper, 14K"
"Sun Beach", SS, 14K, dichroic glass
"Abstract Old Men", SS, malachite or lapis
Ongoing series "Abstract Old Men" pendant, 1.5x3" cast in Sterling, with cabochon eye either malachite or lapis. Presented here L to R, Top row: Archibald, Baxter, Cosmo, Drummond; Bottom row: Ellsworth, Fitzhugh, Godfrey and Humsley. I am casting the entire alphabet of abstract old men, naming each one according to the letter...the letter I is next.
Abstract old men...the best kind I say!
"Grammy Game", 2.5 diameter, SS chain, SS, copper, antique children's game
This is an unusual antique children's game I found years ago in a Maine antique shop. I fabricated a sterling silver compact to enclose the game and designed the sterling silver chain with flippers so one play the game around one's neck by flipping the blue eyes in Grammy's eyes and the white beads in Grammy's mouth. The piece got me through many a boring board meeting.
